Smart Steps is the paediatric range of footwear manufactured entirely in the UK by Chaneco at our Northampton factory. Chaneco is a close-knit family business which has been making footwear since 1971 and is one of the largest independent suppliers of adult stock, modular and bespoke orthopaedic footwear in the UK.

All of our styles are made of high quality leathers, most with stitchdown construction and a rubber commando sole for durability. The trainer styles are made using the more traditional cemented construction but again with rubber bottoms to increase wearability. We offer all styles in sizes 3 (19) to 9.5 (44) in 4 different widths, along with Stability, Oversplint and Anti Varus options.

All styles are available as modular – with last additions to improve fit or as fully bespoke footwear. As every pair is made to order, it allows us the opportunity to fully customise the footwear to the patient’s requirements.

Standard and modular footwear including adaptions will be despatched within 10 working days. Bespoke footwear to a draft, scan or casts will be despatched within 15 working days. If you need footwear urgently, please phone us with your requirements and we will endeavour to meet your timescales.
